Ignite your passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with the Army Research Laboratory’s IGNITE program. Designed to inspire the next generation of innovators, IGNITE immerses middle and high school students in exciting, multi-disciplinary hands-on activities tailored to their age and interests. Led by expert Army scientists, engineers, and Soldiers, these experiences bring real-world STEM challenges to life, fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of discovery.

Each summer, the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) hosts IGNITE programs at three premier locations: Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, Adelphi Laboratory Center in Maryland, and San Antonio in Texas. Whether you’re building robots, exploring cybersecurity, or delving into environmental science, our programs offer immersive opportunities to collaborate, experiment, and grow alongside mentors who are at the forefront of cutting-edge research.

For Students & Families

Middle and high school students dive into authentic STEM projects alongside Army experts. You’ll prototype solutions, experiment, and discover future possibilities in science and technology. For Interns

High school and college students: Serve as mentors, teaching assistants, and role models. Guide participants through modules, offer one-on-one support, and share your STEM journey.
