Are you a high school or college student with a passion for STEM and a desire to inspire the next generation? ARL IGNITE internships offer an exciting opportunity to step into the role of mentor, teaching assistant, and role model for middle and high school students participating in our immersive summer programs. Guided by Army Research Laboratory (ARL) scientists, engineers, and experts, you’ll help shape young minds through hands-on experiences that tackle real-world challenges in fields like robotics, cybersecurity, unmanned systems, and machine learning.

As an ARL IGNITE intern, you'll:
  • Mentor IGNITE Students: Provide one-on-one guidance and support as students build prototypes, conduct experiments, and explore STEM concepts in a collaborative environment.
  • Serve as a Teaching Assistant: Assist in delivering engaging modules, facilitating group activities, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning space during our GEMS programs and beyond.
  • Act as a Role Model: Share your own STEM journey, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and encourage curiosity, helping students see themselves as future innovators and leaders.
